The historic town of New Market invites you to experience the warmth and charm of its annual Christmas celebration on December 7th! This hometown tradition brings together friends, families, and neighbors for a day full of seasonal joy, with events that echo the spirit of small-town holiday cheer. The celebration starts with a lively parade on Main Street, where local groups and holiday characters spread cheer along the route, and kids eagerly await the parade’s end to greet Santa Claus himself. From live music and cozy hot chocolate stations to Mrs. Claus’ Workshop and festive crafts, every activity is designed to make your holiday season memorable.

Here’s the full schedule of the day’s events:

1:00 PM – Christmas Parade on Main Street, wrapping up with a special visit from Santa.

1:00 - 3:00 PM – Enjoy treats from MR Cheesecakes and Snowie food trucks on First Alley.

2:00 PM – Christmas Village at New Market Park (48 E Main St) opens, with:

• 12:00 - 6:00 PM: Holiday photo booth by New Market Physical Therapy.
• 12:00 - 6:00 PM: Hot Chocolate Bar and Crush Station by The Derby (at the park).
• 12:00 - 3:00 PM: Fall Sangria and Caramel Cider Bar by Vintage (at the park).
• 2:00 - 6:00 PM: Cookies by Prospect Pantry, plus food trucks (Grilled Cheese Please and Trippy Tacos), live music, and a Christmas ornament craft station.
• 2:00 - 5:00 PM: Ugly Christmas Sweater Competition, sponsored by New Market Physical Therapy.
• 3:00 - 6:00 PM: Jingles the Elf offers free face-painting and balloon animals, a live DJ plays festive tunes, and from 4:00 - 5:00 PM there’s a Live Nativity Scene.

5:00 PM – The evening closes with a Tree Lighting Ceremony at New Market Park. Join Mayor Winslow Burhans, carolers, and a final Santa visit as we count down to the lighting of the town tree!
